Celebrating International Women's Day
This Woman’s Work
Today, on International Women’s Day, we celebrate the women behind Cleobella whose creativity, vision, and leadership make everything we do possible.

Angela, Founder
Why is it important that women are the ones sitting at the table when it comes to a brand that creates for other women?
Because when women earn, they give. They lift families, communities, and other women with them. When women shape the vision and the decisions, the work moves beyond profit and becomes a ripple of care, opportunity, and shared rising. What we build does not stop with us. It travels outward.
My superpower at work is…
Curiosity. It allows me to keep moving, growing, and staying inspired, always open to learning and possibility.
I feel most powerful when…
I am rooted in purpose and moving with intention, trusting that aligned work has its own quiet strength.
A woman who inspired or mentored me in my career is…
My mom, Cleobelle. She is the heart behind everything I create and a constant reminder to lead with love, resilience, and grace.

Kat, Head of Marketing
Why is it important that women are the ones sitting at the table when it comes to a brand that creates for other women?
Women don't just understand the customer — they are the customer. When women lead the decisions, the nuance shows up in the product: how a dress needs to move, what "effortless" actually feels like, and when a piece needs pockets—or when it doesn't.
My superpower at work is…
Translating a feeling into a visual direction that resonates.
I feel most powerful when…
The team is in collaborative flow, has clarity, and everyone feels proud of their work.
A woman who inspired me in my career is...
First and foremost, my Mom, who raised me and my sister as a single working mother. And then Betsey Johnson. Interning for her in NYC was my first step into the industry. That job showed me that hard work can also be incredibly fun.

The Indira Ankle Dress is soft and feminine, featuring romantic ruffle and lace details. And most importantly, it's comfortable for all-day wear while looking perfectly polished.

Whitney, Production Manager
My superpower at work is…
Self motivation - figure out what needs to happen and get it done.
I feel most powerful when…
On a small team we all wear a lot of hats. Oftentimes there isn't anyone to ask or a new task or project comes up that no one currently owns. I feel most powerful when I can take on something new, and figure it out on my own.
A woman who inspired / mentored me in my career is…
My first boss in the fashion business, Gisela Marin. She taught me that I could move outside my usual bubble - learn new things and live a different kind of life.

Janeen, President
Why is it important that women are the ones sitting at the table when it comes to a brand that creates for other women?
At Cleobella, we are not just designing clothes. We are creating a mirror for women to see themselves more fully. Their power, their softness, their complexity. When women lead that work, the result is not just beautiful. It is true. And in an industry that has spent decades telling women who to be, creating from a place of genuine understanding and shared experience is itself an act of revolution: care for one another, care for what we create, and care for the impact we have.
My superpower at work is…
Seeing the whole picture at once. The people, the brand, the business, and the deeper purpose underneath all of it. And then bringing us back to what matters most so we can show up with focus, with intention, and with our best.
I feel most powerful when…
I am rooted. My daily morning practice is non-negotiable because everything I give to others flows from that place first. When I am connected to myself, I lead differently. More clearly. More honestly. More fully present for the people and the work that I care about.
A woman who inspired / mentored me in my career is…
Grateful, I’ve had many. My elder yoga teacher has had the greatest impact. And I know that might surprise people, but the most transformative mentorship I have ever received did not come from my career in fashion. It came from the practice of learning to trust myself, to listen more deeply, and to lead from the inside out. She taught me that real power is not something you perform. It is from within you, that you embody. That lesson has shaped every room I have walked in to since.

The Nancy Midi Dress. It holds something I think we all want to feel: that feeling of being exactly yourself. The natural materials, the fit, the way it moves. There is a balance in it, masculine and feminine held in the same breath, and that to me is the truest expression of what women are capable of holding. Not one thing. All of it. That is what Cleobella is here to celebrate.

Ellie, Technical Designer
My superpower at work is…
Problem-solving.
I feel most powerful when…
The impossible fashion puzzle is resolved and the customer gets a garment that tells her story and feeds her identity.
A woman who inspired / mentored me in my career is…
My mother was the first woman whose fashion defied and expressed her identity, she was a boss. She inspired me and pushed my abilities.

The Indira Ankle dress is a love letter to the girl that is feminine and easy going. The woman that loves to wear heels in the summer but also goes to the beach with the same dress on.
