Travel To Charleston, South Carolina
OUR WEEKEND SPENT IN CHARLESTON, SOUTH CAROLINA.
We explored around the town, ate delicious food, took lots of photos, and spent quality time with friends & family. Read along for our itinerary, places we saw, and the food we ate!
STAY
The Posthouse Inn - We recently got to stay at this wonderful little Inn in the Old Village, just across the bridge from downtown Charleston, and could not recommend it more! Every room (there are only 7) is decorated so charmingly we completely fell in love and never wanted to check-out. Better still, the Inn has a coastal tavern underneath the rooms where they serve locally sourced fare. Good food, beautiful rooms, and a stunning cocktail bar? Yes, please!
The Dewberry Hotel - We didn’t get the chance to stay here, but we definitely did not miss the rooftop bar! Every square inch of The Dewberry reflects a tight-knit collaboration between preservationists, designers, architects, artists and artisans over the course of eight years. Plus, Garden & Gun has a little boutique in the lobby - perfect for snatching up local gifts.
Zero George - Another beautiful little boutique hotel hidden in Charleston. Described as “Historic elegance meets sophisticated chic”, we could not agree more.
Airbnb - There are so many adorable airbnbs available in Charleston. Book early, places go quick!
EAT
Husk — By far, a favorite meal of the weekend, get the spicy peach marg, and ask to sit on the porch near the magnolia tree. The best kind of southern experience!
The Ordinary — If you're craving seafood in an upscale but not stuffy environment, this is your place.
Leon's Oyster Shop — Best lunch in the city, hands down. Get their frozen drinks and the grilled oysters. Drooling just thinking about them.
Chez Nous — Intimate, french restaurant where the hand-written menu is changed every day. Chef-driven and overall incredible experience
Poe's Tavern — Casual lunch on Sullivan's Island. great chicken burgers.
Post House Restaurant - As we mentioned before, we both stayed here and ate here. Both were superb experiences. Described as a coastal tavern - the ambience is everything you want it to be and more + the food was pretty amazing too!
DRINK
The Gin Joint - Yummy, quaint little cocktail bar
The Citrus Club at The Dewberry Hotel - Our go-to for pre dinner drinks, but there are so many rooftop bars in town that offer amazing views.
THINGS TO EXPLORE
Sullivans Island - it's about a 30-minute drive outside Charleston but so worth it! The water was incredible, such a perfect, warm temperature that you can swim and float in for hours!
Walking around town is always a must in a new city! The cobblestone streets are like walking back in time. The beautiful beaches are such a sight to see, pick up some seashells while you're at it!
We loved walking around and looking at all the historic homes and landscaping around the area. Charleston is definitely a place we want to visit more frequently — such a beautiful little oasis. If you ever find yourself there be sure to let us know your favorite spots!
